A loud, wonderful feast of music was enjoyed by all those who ventured out to the recent piano recital by Roman Rudnytsky. It was a real privilege to have a musician of his calibre playing in our own district and he did not disappoint us. We journeyed through the musical ages beginning with the great composers of the 1700’s through to the more modern composers of the mid Twentieth Century, getting exposed along the way to some of the lessor known works by artists such as Greig and Chopin. Rudnytsky complemented his performance with an interesting and entertaining explanation of the history of the Composers, and analyses of the musical forms themselves. We were particularly privileged to hear a concert piece which he had adapted for piano only and were promised that we would hear another such piece when he next returned to Narrogin. We’re looking forward to that.
