Rebecca Cool at work on her Town Hall mural
July 14 saw the arrival of renowned Western Australian artist Rebecca Cool in Narrogin for a week long visit. Rebecca has been commissioned by the Town of Narrogin to create a mural on the Town Hall Piazza and has had help painting her vibrant design from local artists. Unfortunately, the rain put a dampener on things and has slowed progress on the Fortune Street mural, but we hope to see Rebecca back in July to finish off her work.
Rebecca’s colourful, folk-style art is characterised by highly stylised faces and is instantly recognisable. Her works display a heavy focus on patterns, shapes and colours – which is evident in her work on Fortune Street. There is a small display of her art, greetings card and illustrated children’s books in ARTS SPACE at the moment. Pop on in and check it out!
